Google Drive: Cloud Storage

Google DriveStore all of your documents here (Google Drive) and access them from any device, anywhere with an Internet connection. In addition to District/LVS  Chromebooks, you can access your Google docs on any computer, iPad, iPhone, Android, or any Internet-accessible device of your choice. However, we at LVS strongly recommend that you only use the school-issued Chromebook for file management.

Google Docs: Word Processor

Google DocsSimilar to Microsoft Word, Google Docs are editable documents stored in your Google drive. Like Drive, there are apps for your computer, iPads, Android tablet, and phones so that you can edit your documents anywhere. This app allows for creating and editing documents of a variety of formats and layouts.

Google Sheets: Spreadsheet

Google SheetsSimilar to Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets can be accessed with any Internet enabled device. This app allows for creating and editing spreadsheets that can contain formulas, data, and variables from text to numbers.

Google Slides: Presentation Software

Google SlidesSimilar to Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides can be accessed with any Internet enabled device. This app allows for creating and editing presentation slides that contain images, text, numbers, and links to outside pages and sites.

Google Classroom

Google ClassroomYour classroom in the cloud. Teachers can easily distribute and collect assignments via Google Classroom. This cloud-based resource may be useful for teachers to communicate, collaborate, and distribute information and assignments, along with resources, from and with teachers and students.


Installing Additional Apps

All applications that a student needs for success will be installed on the Chromebook. We do not recommend that students try to install apps or other applications like extensions as most of these are not available for students to download.
