How to clear your Chromebook's cache

If your Chrome browser becomes slow, non-responsive, or sites you've been to before are not loading correctly... then you may need to clear your Chromebook's cache. Also, if you start to see "Error 400" or similar messages that will not allow you to see webpages that you frequently visit, then you may need to clear cache. Please follow the steps below to do so.

  • Click on the 3 buttons at the very top right of your screen

  • In the menu, please choose "More tools -->"
  • Then choose "Clear Browsing Data..."
    • You may also use the key combination of CTRL + SHIFT + BACKSPACE

  • For the Time Range field, choose "For All Time"
  • Check the top, middle, and bottom boxes for "Browsing history", "cookies", and "Cached images and files"
  • Click on the "Clear data" blue button
  • Close and reopen your tabs to continue your work
