Receiving a Chromebook

What is the LVS Chromebook?

Dell 3100 ChromebookA Chromebook (provided from the Lee County School District) is a type of computer that combines simplicity, speed, security, and a long battery life at an affordable price to the district. Long battery life is one of the Chromebook’s best features which allows students to utilize the device through an entire day without having to plug it in to continue working.

Receiving the Chromebook

Chromebooks are typically distributed to students who are confirmed as enrolled with Lee Virtual School in our computer system, who have a clear account with LCSD (no other Chromebooks or fees owed), and usually within the first few days of the LCSD school year. This process takes longer when there is a transfer to LVS from any other school; especially if from out of county, state, or country as the processing takes a bit longer. Lee Virtual School hosts an event at the beginning of each school year when students and families come to the LCPEC (district building) at the EAST entrance to get a Chromebook Package assigned.

The student Chromebook Package (CBP) includes:

  • 1 Dell Chromebook (laptop computer)
  • 1 A/C Power Supply (2-pieces)
  • 1 Protective Sleeve (zippered case)Chromebook Sleeve

Student Chromebook Power SupplyReceipt and use of the Chromebook is a requirement for all LVS students. Students may choose to supplement the Chromebook to also utilize personal devices, such as printers, to support the tools and apps provided on the Chromebook. The Chromebooks are updated regularly and notices will be sent to students and families when necessary updates are required.
