Cambridge AICE

Cambridge AICE at LVS

The Cambridge educational program is assessed in coordination with the University of Cambridge International Examinations. There are a wide range of educational experiences which allow students to foray into the literature they would otherwise not discover in the high school environment. Cambridge AICE is comprised of an international curriculum which emphasizes a variety of academic excellence experiences for each and all enrolled students. The idea behind the program is to involve students with a working knowledge of concepts and skills while preparing them for demonstrations of academic mastery.

Cambridge Learner Cycle

Testimonial

The courses within the Cambridge AICE program rival those at the post-secondary level. There are multiple pathways for students to explore who wish to accelerate their education in the high school setting. The program also emphasizes each student's own interests and plans while staying within the rigorous curriculum offered. Cambridge AICE aligns with a system of academic rigor that prepares students for international studies and real-world projects that encompass project-based learning within a collegial environment. The program's teachers strive to support each and every student's journey to better see them through to avenues of success.

COMPLETING THE PROGRAM

Students who complete the Cambridge AICE program are better prepared to enter the workforce or the post-secondary environment. The skills and competencies addressed within the program afford students the necessary foundation for success outside of the school environment. University-bound students will find their abilities to enter into a wide variety of post-secondary eased as they will have completed a rigorous program that requires demonstration of academic excellence.

Testing Information

Please review the information related to upcoming Cambridge AICE (Advanced International Certificate of Education) testing for students. These assessments are an important part of our students' academic journey, and we want to ensure every student is fully prepared for the tests ahead. Passing the AICE Exam will earn your student college credit and one point toward the seven points required for the AICE Diploma. All AICE exams have at least two sessions (with the exception of AICE General Paper). Sessions are given on separate days, and students are required to attend both sessions. We cannot make any exceptions. Punctuality is Essential!

It is crucial that students arrive on time for their exams. Please be aware that there are no make-up days for AICE testing, and students who miss their scheduled exam will not be able to retake it. We ask that you make the necessary arrangements to ensure your child is present and punctual for each testing session.

What Students Need:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Pencils and erasers (students should avoid bringing pens or mechanical pencils)
  • Jacket or Sweater
  • Lunch (if taking morning and afternoon exams) or money for McDonalds, water, snack
  • Any other materials specified by their teachers (please check with your child’s teacher if unsure)

Preparation Tips:
We encourage students to review their study materials and take advantage of any review sessions offered by their teachers. Proper rest and a healthy breakfast on testing days are also key to performing at their best. We encourage students to complete the course before sitting for the exam.
